I joined the badminton club last year. It was very crowded and you got very little time on court at the actually sessions. I only bothered playing a few times because of it. I did play regularly with some guys from my block last year, which was fun. I would be willing to join in with something like this. If we get enough people we can book 2 courts and play a small competition or something.

Alright guys,
I quite fancy setting up some kind of regular shuttle bashing sesh if anyone is interested? Its only about £4 for a court for an hour so would be a nice cheap social with maybe pizza and cheeky drinks afterwards. I thought about joining the club but its £50 and i imagine that there is not really enough recreational time available to make good use of. maybe im wrong but whatever. So if youre interested in getting something going then reply to this post. cheers, Hot Rod |

The new academic year has now started so if you were a member last year, you are now no longer a member of the club. To re-join the club please go to www.lufbra.net/gliding and click join at the bottom of the page. I hope lots of you will be re-joining us for what is going to be a very exciting year for us.
Don't forget you can only carry on flying at Four Counties if you have membership of LSUGC so if you intend going flying in the next few weeks then YOU MUST REJOIN THE CLUB. Otherwise you are not insured. Thanks guys and hopefully see lots of you around this year. Sam |

All committee members will be at freshers fair and anyone else who can help out for a day or both days will be much appreciated. Please let me know if you are interested and which day(s) you would like to do.
This will also be a good opportunity for anyone who wants to go flying to do so before we get the huge influx of new members. Any non-committee members please feel free to go flying on the freshers fair weekend if you wish. Of course remember to join the club well before freshers fair because we only have a limited number of places and I dont want anyone to be disapointed. |

Another reminder about medicals,
If you think you might be able to go solo in the week then please get your medical sorted with your GP in good time before you come to the interunis. Contact me if you want to ask about it. Also I hope you all have sorted a tent for the competition. Post on here if you have not and somebody might be able to help you. Dan the German - I have found a tent for you. |

Just about sorted the K-13 now. Kirton-in-Lindsey Gliding Club have kindly said we can borrow their closed K-13 trailer so I will be going down to have a look at it soon and make sure its ok but it sounds fine. Still looking ok for instructors. Dont forget that we will still be able to use Bicester's gliders for the week.
In terms of thinking about what to bring heres a couple of flying related things you might not have thought about: -Log book and yellow progress card -Sunglasses and sun hat -Suncream -Camelback or similar for drinking if you have a long flight -A copy of your medical. (I'm not sure whether Bicester will want this but some clubs want a copy of the medicals for all solo pilots that fly there. If you are solo please bring a copy of yours. If you are not solo but are nearly there then please get your medical done if you havent already and then bring a copy AND the original just in case.) If you are not sure about medicals then please ask me on here or email me. -Money for flying, food, drinking, transport (if we have trips on evenings or rainy days) -We will also be splitting the costs of getting the K-13 to Bicester and possibly storing it in the hangar for the week. We could keep it in the trailer but those who went to portmoak know how much of a pain it is de-rigging and rigging a 2-seater everyday. I do not expect any of this to cost much. -We have some instructors coming from other clubs to help us so we will plit their fuel costs between us which again shouldnt work out to be too expensive. Nearly there guys. Remember if you havent registered on www.interunis.co.uk yet then please do it now. Nottingham are currently beating us with 13 people and we have 12. |
