Hi everyone. There are only 8 weeks of uni left now and I want to make sure that we have most of the inter-unis organising done before we go. We have written plenty about this week on this thread so have a read back through to find out what the competition is about. The main thing I would emphasize is that everyone who goes is a competitor - it doesnt matter whether youre solo or not. This means the more people that go, the more points we will get and the more chance we have of winning.

I have a list now of interested people but we can take as many people as want to go so if you are interested in coming but havent put your name down yet then post on here and let me know if you want to come. We will be camping and the cost for the whole 9 days is just £10. The dates are the 7-15th August and the location is Bicester airfield (about 10 miles from Oxford).

So, to get things moving can everyone who is interested please post on here saying how you intend to get there and if you intend to bring a tent. Depending on peoples locations and who is driving there might be a possibility of some people giving lifts. If you can't drive and cant get a lift then bicester train station is only about a mile from the airfield. If you are on the list here and now don't want to go then please let me know.

I will hopefully be driving but I think that my car is now full. If I do go I will bring callum (because he lives near me) and possibly Conor (because hes on the way). If Im bringing Callum then his shoes will take up the rest of the car. When thinking about driving and possibly giving lifts, do not underestimate the amount of stuff you will need for a weeks camping. A tent and sleeping bag takes up a lot of room in a small car.

Anyway people, let me know what your plans are for this week. In a few weeks I will arrange a get together so we can discuss the expedition a bit more and we can hopefully sort out transport and camping arrangements. Really looking forward to it and should be an awesome week. This is the first time in quite a few years that weve had a club this good so we need to show the other unis what we can do!

(Corrected the date - The competition will be 7-15th August)

I'm interested as well.  I would like a lift if possible, I'm trying to get a lift from my dad as well, but I will probably end up on the train.  I wont be bringing a tent.  I may not be able to make it for the whole week but hopefully work wont get in the way.

And Sam, I feel sorry for Callum.  You should never deny a woman's right to take as many shoes as she want  Tongue

Definitely still interested Sam, a lift would be great too if you can but if not i'm sure i can hop on the train. At the moment i don't have a tent, might try to sort something out before the competition.

Definitely still interested, but not sure where i'll be working/living over the summer yet, so can't say about during the week but will defo try to make it down for the weekends.
Either way I'l be driving and have a tent, so anyone who's close to wherever I end up is welcome to a lift Smiley

I'm still interested, but i can only stay until the 11th.

I've got a tent that can accommodate 2 people (or 3 at a push) and can drive there

I'm still coming, I'll drive and bring a one man tent.  Not sure where I'm driving from depends where I get put on placement and I probably can't stay the whole week.

i will definitely come as well, flying into london and would go to oxford from there by national express (unless someone is coming from london which would be amazing) and hope someone can pick me up there on the 7th. Since luggage is pretty limited with Ryanair I hope someone can accommodate me in his/her tent ;-)

Possibly bringing the car down, I don't have a tent. But have a trangia for cooking purposes. If I do leave earlier, then I can leave it with you guys to use if you want.

Hi all,

For anyone who is interested in flying at the Inter University Task Week at Bicester (Oxfordshire) in August 2010. We will be having a meeting to discuss the arrangements on Monday 17th May at 6 PM in the union council chambers (upstairs in the union where we had the AGM I believe).

I know that some of you have already expressed your interest, but if you have not heard about the Inter Uni's but you would like to find out more then please come along and we will tell you all about it. Its promising to be an epic week with plenty of flying!

Anyone who has already confirmed that they will be competing at the Inter Uni's must come along so that we can sort out all of the finer details (transportation, costs etc)

Hope to see you all there
